Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, David Joy is the author of Growing Gills: A Fly Fisherman’s Journey, published in the fall of 2011 by Bright Mountain Books. David currently lives in Glenville, North Carolina and consistently publishes his creative nonfiction in journals such as Bird Watcher’s Digest, Smoky Mountain Living, and the Wilderness House Literary Review.
